VMV Hypoallergenics has been making some of the most exhaustively researched and tested skin care products in the world since 1979, but only recently did it get into the child care business. And we're thankful that it did.
VMV is the brainchild of a research-oriented, well-published dermatologist-dermatopathologist (in layman's terms, that's someone who studies skin disease at a microscopic level). VMV created its line of Mom & Baby products when many of its employees became first-time parents (and grandparents) and were frustrated by the lack of truly hypoallergenic products available for
children. With love and attention to the special needs of a child's sensitive skin, VMV set out to raise its own bar, creating its safest, most hypoallergenic line of products yet: they are the first to
be rated VH-65, meaning they are free of all 65 known allergens.
VMV's Grandma Minnie's Mommycoddling All-Over Lotion is intended for use on children's face and body and on the itchy/stretch-mark-prone skin of moms and moms-to-be. It protects skin from dryness and infection, relieves irritation, itchiness and rashes, and makes for a great infant massage. Mommycoddling All-Over Lotion contains monolaurin, a mild yet powerful coconut-derived antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiprotozoal (protozoa are unicellular microorganisms), and organic virgin coconut oil (its fatty acids are native to skin, making coconut oil a soothing and effective moisturizer). It is gentle yet effective enough for all skin types -- even atopic skin -- and for children (and their parents) aged 0 and up. Not only is it VH-65, but it's also non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores and 100% free of all fragrances, preservatives, parabens and phthalates.
VMV patch tests both every product it makes and every single ingredient that goes into its products. It conducts evidence-based clinical studies, both in vitro (in its own and independent laboratories) and in vivo (using voluntary human subjects with relevant skin disorders in actual use conditions: the gold standard, which is not easy to do and not very common). Of course, VMV never tests its products on animals.
You will pay a little more for VMV Hypoallergenics, but you'll get your money's worth in terms of both quality and quantity (the products are quite large and contain lots of goodness). Plus, VMV's packaging and bottles are beautiful and elegant, making them a thoughtful gift. |
