When we got together here at GBHQ (that's Greeno Bambino's
International Headquarters, of course!) to discuss what to look for in
a non-toxic kid's furniture company, there was no shortage of ideas.
In fact, we had so many gripes with the options we'd encountered that
our wish list started out more like a wish not list.
We all
agreed that most kid's furniture was either too cheap, too expensive,
too ugly, too toxic, too uninspired, too environmentally irresponsible,
or too difficult to put together. So we went in search of something
that was the antithesis of all these qualities, and our wish was
granted when we found Ecotots.
Ecotots is everything we could
have asked for in children's furniture: thoughtfully designed with a
playful yet timeless aesthetic; built to last a lifetime (and
guaranteed to do so); designed and made in the USA (and sourced
completely from within North America); non-toxic; eco-friendly; and
literally a snap to put together. Plus, though more expensive than the
nearly disposable furniture you'll find in big box stores, it's much
more sensibly priced than most other high-end furniture options.
The Surfin' Art Time Easel features a durable, 100% non-toxic, water based
UV-cured finish, and
assembles (and disassembles) in minutes with a patented no-tools/no-hardware method. It
is constructed from just three pieces of formaldehyde-free, Forest
Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified, environmentally friendly Birch
veneer plywood - not that particle board junk with which you've
probably become all too familiar. And like everything Ecotots, it's extra-wide at its base to provide for stable, safe, anti-tip fun.
Whether your little artist is a budding Picasso or the next Miro, likes to
craft landscapes or just draw shapes, she'll be so
inspired to focus and create that her next creation won't end up on
your drapes.
Available in 4 arty colors: Cocoa, Fire, Leaf and Natural.
Ecotots
is a brand of The Simple Furniture Company, a
privately held business located in Indiana. The Simple Furniture
Company is a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council (SFC)
and a proud member of 1% For the Planet, an alliance of businesses
that donate at least 1% of their annual revenues to environmental
organizations worldwide. |
